Maternity Line at Gigi's!

Many of my girlfriends love Gigi's Clothing Boutique, tucked inside the Stonehenge Shopping Center off of Creedmoor Road.  They have stylish clothing and accesories at affordable prices.  When I read that they were adding a maternity line, I was thrilled.  Knowing the style and quality of the usual clothes the store carries, moms-to-be can rest assure knowing they can grow their baby bumps in style!

Whole Foods Grand Opening

For those of us living in the Midtown and North Raleigh areas, the opening of Whole Foods off of Six Forks Road is a big event.  This is not because of the free breakfast offered the morning of the grand opening, but because we have waited for this for a long time.  Previously, the closest Whole Foods was off of Wade Avenue, and inconvenient to most of us living OTB.  While I was pregnant I would sometimes make special trips there for the nitrate-free sandwich meat.  After I gave birth, my good friend Emily brought me the best gift at the hospital, a selection of Whole Foods' cookies.  I would not have been able to survive between meals without them!  Now the new store is less than five minutes away and I look forward to enjoying more treats and fresh food on a regular basis.

Tuesday Morning Pick-Me-Up

Every Tuesday in March, participating Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Greater Triangle Area are offering free breakfast (either a Chicken Biscuit -Spicy or Regular- or 3 count Chik-n-Minis depending on the day)- no strings attached!  My family enjoyed our breakfast treats at the North Hills Chick-fil-A this morning.  Not only did our 21-month-old son receive the free breakfast, but he also enjoyed a cow sighting.  Same time, next week?  See you there!

Other March Madness specials at the North Hills Chick-fil-A include:
  • March 21 10:30-8:30- Wear your sports team attire and receive a free Chicken Sandwich with the purchase of a large sweet tea.
  • March 24 5:00-8:00PM- receive a free small Banana Pudding Milkshake (the current featured flavor) when you purchase a chicken sandwich.

New Asian Eatery

Looking for some good Asian food?  Word on the street is you need to check out David's Dumpling and Noodle Bar.  Not only are the noodles made in house by the chef that brought us The Duck and Dumpling, but the fare is affordable for dine-in or take-out.  Only one caveat, parking is easier to find on a Friday or Saturday night when school (NCSU) is not in session, which may make-take out during the week more difficult.

Raleigh Wide Open

Hello there!  This blog was created because I feel like I never take full advantage of all the great places and events that the city of Raleigh has to offer.  Check out "Cheap Eats" for a list of area resturants that have free (or cheap) meals for kids.  I plan to include a monthly calendar of neat events that are happening around our city, as well as other favorite spots.  I hope to see you out on the streets!
